common sense approach to oil/air separation

We start with a Parker/Watts 20 micron filter assembly.

| The Parker/Watts OEM units zinc
reservoir with integral brass drainage valve has a liquid capture
capacity of 1 oz. All components within this assembly can withstand 200
degrees F. This is much higher than that of a polycarbonate (clear)
reservoir. This inexpensive starter kit contains a zinc-plated steel
reversible mounting bracket and two self-threading screws. Port size = 1/4 NPT |
The filter element is
positioned in between a liquid dispersion disc* (left side) and an
acetal retainer that runs through the filter and dispersion disc. This
assembly threads into the aluminum top piece. * The dispersion disc directs oil-infused gases out against the inside of the reservoir. Larger droplets collect against this cooler surface and drop to the bottom. |
This extended-length reservoir
kit includes this compact (1.5-inch diameter), machined-from-billet
aluminum reservoir. It has 3x the capacity of the zinc version. Each
extended aluminum reservoir kit includes the smaller zinc reservoir.

The only
glass catch can offered anywhere else, this 2.0-inch diameter kit
includes stainless steel mounting bracket and safety/mounting
bracket as well as a vinyl cushioning cap.
Glass is .10 - .12 inch thick and is rated to full vacuum pressure. Port size = 3/8 NPT |
This machined from billet 2.0
inch diameter kit is the big brother to our 1.5-inch diameter system. It
maintains the same overall height (6.3" with thumb screws) but has
double the liquid capacity of its sibling. It is easily capable of
sustaining high boost pressures as well as full vacuum. Port size = 3/8 NPT |
| Please note that all kits include two 6-32 brass thumb screws. These allow the top and bottom
components to be easily removed from the mounting bracket. The reservoir may
then be unthreaded and entrapped oil, quickly poured out. We believe this is
often much faster than opening up a drain valve and waiting for unpressurized
oil to drain completely. In addition, all kits other than the starter kit contain Teflon sealing tape-wrapped brass hose fittings (shown below) in either 3/8 or 1/2 inch hose sizes. 5/8 inch hose fittings are also available. Kits are also available with 2, 4, or 6 ft of reinforced Goodyear hose and all-stainless steel clamps. Hose is available in any length, separately. Quality of fabrication: Take a look at the precision machining that goes into both sizes of aluminum top pieces. Since the most common type of liquid that is collected by these units is motor oil, no anodizing is necessary. We feel that any cosmetic blemishes or discolorations are much more easily removed if no coating is present. |

Each aluminum "Kit" consists of the following:
♦ Watts F504-02DHK67 filter element
with acetal retainer, liquid dispersion disc,
steel mounting bracket (2.0" diameter version's bracket is
stainless steel) zinc reservoir (1.5 inch diameter kit, only)
♦ (2) 6-32 x 1/4 brass thumb screws
♦ Machined from billet extended length aluminum reservoir
♦ (2) Teflon-taped solid brass hose fittings, 1/4 MNPT (either 3/8 or 1/2
inch hose barb)
Optional kits include reinforced Goodyear PCV/fuel line hose
(3/8" or 1/2" ID) and 4 all-stainless steel clamps.
Each Glass body "Kit" consists of the following:
♦ Watts F504-02DHK67 filter element with Acetal retainer and
liquid dispersion disc
♦ Precision-machined aluminum top piece
♦ Custom-designed rubber gasket (highly resistant to any type of oil)
♦ 2 each of 1/8-inch thick glass reservoir (impervious to almost any chemical)
♦ Stainless steel mounting bracket and stainless steel safety bracket
♦ (2) Teflon-taped solid brass hose fittings, 1/4 or 3/8 MNPT (either 3/8, 1/2,
or 5/8
inch hose barbs)
♦ Black Vinyl cap (rated to 200 degrees F) to dampen vibration (if necessary).
Optional kits include reinforced Goodyear PCV/fuel line hose and 4 all-stainless
steel clamps.
Warning: Do not internally pressurize the extended length aluminum housing to more than 60 psi. Do not allow water within the housing to freeze if level is above the filter element. Glass body kit is for automotive (vacuum pressure) applications, only. Do NOT use with compressed air systems! Doing so may result in severe injury or death. If your PCV line system may experience positive pressure install a check valve to prevent the glass housing from being internally pressurized. |
